KAPA3’s priority is the accessibility of citizens to beneficial legal provisions, as well as the utilization of existing structures and services throughout Greece. KAPA3 offers legal assistance to cancer patients and helps raise awareness on cancer issues throughout Greece. In 2021, TIMA supported K3 in piloting a program at the Theagenio Hospital in Thessaloniki with the set-up of a subsidiary office, with over 500 beneficiaries supported.

The grant regards the continuation of support for patients at Theagenio Hospital, which is the largest oncological hospital in Northern Greece and the extension of the program to the University Hospital of Thraki in Alexandroupoli. At the hospital, KAPA3 staff and volunteers will process patient applications for submission to the relevant municipalities. The set-up of a subsidiary office at the hospital entails a physical presence within the hospitals, where patients receive their diagnosis and/or treatment. In this way, the hospitals can extend the health care they provide their patients from purely physical treatment, to social care as well.
