Zorzis Mihalinos is the only nonprofit care home in the town of Chios and one of two on the island. The building accommodates 95 senior residents, 40% of whom are bedridden. Zorzis Mihalinos Care Home accepts both autonomous and bedridden patients. It implements its statutory mission by accepting a higher than usual percentage (10%) of elders who are unable to contribute financially.

The grant regards the support of operating expenses at the care home covering food for the 95 residents and 16 vulnerable individuals living outside the home. The support will also cover other basic needs such as cleaning goods.
