Feed for Bees in Northern Greece

The grant regards the provision of sugar and protein feed to the beekeepers affected by the 2023 fires in the Soufli region of Evros. In this region, bees no longer have nature’s bounty to provide for them. The feed will ensure that the bees survive and that the beekeepers can continue their trade. The beneficiary beekeepers identified rely on the bees as a major source of income. About 70 beekeepers will receive feed for more than 4,000 bee hives. Bees are also the main drivers of pollination and will help to ensure both agricultural development in the region, in the years to come, as well as supporting the reflowering of the trees and plants, contributing to the reforestation of the region.
