The Federation’s members are 37 Alzheimer’s organizations throughout Greece. The Federation’s main purpose is to coordinate its organization-members in the framework of social contribution and awareness regarding the needs of dementia patients and their caregivers. The goals of the Federation include the creation of structures and services that improve the quality of life of dementia patients and their caregivers, support for dementia research, especially on the early and accurate diagnosis of the disease, continuous awareness-raising of the public, for the least possible marginalization of patients with dementia, the cooperation with organizations throughout the world for the attainment of the above objectives and the participation in relevant international conferences.

Operating Support

 

The grant regards the provision of fundraising support with the goal of seeking funding opportunities and preparing proposals for submission to European and national programs. The proposals will be drafted both on behalf of the Federation, as well as for members of the Federation that meet the funding criteria. The various organization-members of the Federation, as well as the Federation itself, will benefit from participation in European and national programs, and of course, in the funding received that will allow them to expand their activities. Unemployment will also be tackled through the plethora of new employment positions created for health professionals who will be integrated in the associated personnel of the approved projects.
