The Center was established in 2020 with the aim of collating all useful information in one place, with references to State subsidies, workers’ rights and other legal rights for individuals who have or have had cancer. KAPA3’s priority is the accessibility of citizens to beneficial legal provisions, as well as the utilization of existing structures and services throughout Greece. KAPA3 offers legal assistance to cancer patients and helps raise awareness on cancer issues throughout Greece. By providing accessible information and guidance on current legislation, as well as direct social support through a call center, and mobile units at cancer hospitals, K3 diminishes the stress patients and caregivers face while ensuring they understand and exercise their rights through existing support structures across Greece.
“Myrto Digital Assistant”
The grant regards Greece’s first AI-powered chatbot, designed specifically for vulnerable cancer patients, offering free, personalized guidance on their social rights and benefits. This addresses “second-level digital exclusion” affecting elderly individuals, patients, and those with limited digital literacy. The functional AI chatbot will be integrated on the Kapa3 website, serving as a social support tool that ensures patients and their carers have a guide through bureaucracy. Training workshops in the use of the chatbot for social workers in rural and island peripheries will take place, as well as a public awareness campaign for tool dissemination. The project will substantially improve the quality of life for patients and caregivers by facilitating access to information on their rights and social welfare services in a direct and understandable manner.
