New Program creation: “Caring for the Elderly”– Ladies Union of Drama

The Ladies Union of Drama has created, through a grant of the TIMA Charitable Foundation and in direct collaboration with the John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation, a program titled "Caring for the Elderly".

Through this program, the Ladies Union of Drama is able to provide monthly food supplies and hygiene products to families in need in Drama. The 74 recipient families are comprised of elders exclusively or with an elderly family member living under the same roof. The program’s implementation involves the use of vouchers to cover the major dietary and household requirements of each beneficiary family. Two social workers have received specialized training in order to run the program more efficiently.

The program was created in response to the growing number of requests directed to the Ladies Union of Drama by the elderly residents in need of Drama. The overall objective of the program is to improve the living conditions of the beneficiaries and to encourage their social autonomy.
