It acts as a facilitator for the meeting of many different needs in the Drama prefecture. The Ladies Union of Drama employs 2 full-time employees and has a very active and large network of dynamic volunteers.

“Caring for the Elderly” Program

The grant regards the implementation of “Caring for the Elderly”, a program providing monthly food supplies and hygiene products to 74 families in need in Drama. The recipient families are comprised of elders exclusively or with an elderly family member living under the same roof. The provision of food supplies and hygiene products is realized through the use of vouchers allowing the families to purchase the items that they need most. Two social workers have received specialized training and appointed to run the program more efficiently. The families also receive nutritional advice regarding a healthier and more balanced diet for their elderly members. This grant is implemented in collaboration with the John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation.
