GivMed, through a grant of the TIMA Charitable Foundation, implemented a 15-month medicine donation program for 15 geriatric units in Attica.
GivMed recorded the needs of care homes and other related geriatric units and developed an online system for the ex-change and donation of medicine. Approximately 850 persons in geriatric units benefited from the medicine donation program. The personnel of the geriatric units were trained by the GivMed team in the use of the online software for the exchange and donation of medicine. More than 5600 boxes of medicine were delivered to the geriatric units. Lastly, through the program, an awareness-raising campaign aimed to inform residents in the neighborhoods where the geriatric units were located regarding pharmaceutical waste and the importance of medicine donation.
