Organization Earth: Organic Vegetable Garden at the Athens Care Home

Organization Earth, through a grant of the TIMA Charitable Foundation, has created an organic vegetable garden at the Athens Care Home. Through interactive workshops, elderly residents learn about sustainable agriculture, circular economy principles, organic vegetable cultivation, plant protection, aromatic plants, composting, and material reuse. The vegetable garden is in the process of being developed and the vegetables, herbs, and plants that will be cultivated will also reduce the need to purchase produce So far, more than 80 residents of the Athens Care Home have participated in the workshops and in the development of the garden. Additionally, this grant offers the opportunity for the Care Home residents to interact and socialize with one another around a common project.
