The organization seeks to achieve its objectives through the following activities:

  • the organization and production of musical, theatrical, film, and dance performances; promoting and advancing culture on a non-profit basis
  • the organization of educational programs and seminars, lectures, and conferences focused on culture
  • the development of awareness-raising programs through culture, on issues of ecology, the environment, and energy conservation

Pilot Program for the Transportation of Seniors on Chalki Island

 

The grant regards a pilot program for the transport of elderly residents of Chalki Island. The program will span 7 months and will provide a free transportation service using the Municipality’s electric van. Seniors on the island will benefit from a safe and direct access to municipal and health services as well as to seasonal cultural events. Chalki is one of the smallest and most isolated islands of the South Aegean; the island’s elderly residents, in particular, face transport challenges due to the difficult roads and isolated villages. This program is the first organized initiative aimed at strengthening the social inclusion of the elderly in Chalki by ensuring their daily transport.
