Nosilia’s mission is to keep hospital beds free, whilst allowing patients to remain in  familiar surroundings and a sterilized environment compared to the hospital. It also aims to support and train the family/caregiver of the patient to be better able to care for themselves and the patient. Nosilia’s programs include a social medical clinic and pharmacy, the lending of orthopedic supplies, and support to lonely patients at Pammakaristos Hospital.

Honoring Ageing Program

The grant regards a program that provides care-at-home support for chronically ill elderly and their caregivers. The program is aimed at improving the lives of elderly patients as well as supporting their families and caregivers. The Honoring Ageing program intends to relieve caregivers of the uncertainty related to loss in the home environment. The program will support about 30 patients and their families each month, with patients requiring support for up to 4 months on average. Given that, Nosilia aims to support 90 individuals within the year and at least 90 members of their family who act as the patient’s caregivers. Program services include medical, psychological, and nursing support, as well as the provision of physical therapy. Volunteers will also be on-call to provide further support where more specialised help is not required.
