“I Discover My City” Program & Equipment
The grant regards the creation of a wellness program for elders, as well as the provision of medical and technical equipment. More specifically, the wellness program titled “I Discover My City” involves the combination of organized walks for elders with guided tours in historical sites of Thessaloniki. The purpose of the program is to offer physical activity and mental strengthening. The program will comprise of 13 walks, each at a different historical site, with the participation of 250 elders from the 14 Open Protection Centers. The medical equipment will be placed in every one of the 14 Centers for emergency first aid relief. The technical equipment will be used for the events of the Centers in outdoor venues. Additionally, air-conditioning will be installed in Open Protection Centers where needed.
