With 28 years of multifaceted experience in cultural activities, AXANA has established itself as a leading cultural institution in Greece, creating innovative theatrical and musical productions while contributing significantly to education and social causes. In 1997, Axana created the “Train-Theater” which was inspired by Jules Verne. It is a unique railway cultural complex featuring 10 restored vintage train cars including authentic 1926 Orient Express Wagon Restaurant and a 1953 Breda steam locomotive.
“Health and Art Together” Program
The grant regards a therapeutic arts program that will target patients in public hospitals in Attica. The program will entail three specially trained art therapy groups that will provide interactive performances specifically designed for patients with chronic illnesses and mental health conditions. Each performance engages patients, caregivers and medical staff through narrative therapy sessions combining literature, music and drama. After each performance the trained artists will offer workshops for medical personnel on integrating arts into patient care. The program aims to complete 20 performances over 5 months, with 2 visits per week to the Attikon Hospital. The beneficiaries will be 900 elderly patients with chronic illnesses requiring long-term hospitalization
