Food Bank & Digitization of the Home for the Elderly

It operates a food bank and offers financial donations to more than 180 families in Central Athens living below the poverty line. Pagrati is the third largest parish in Athens serving more than 80,000 people; the FPF serves as an important lifeline for food and financial aid for the neighborhood’s poorest residents. The Home for the Elderly was established in 1995 and currently offers care to 24 elderly women, of which 60% are bedridden.

Project Green & Project Hope

The grant entails two projects: Project Green and Project Hope.

Project Green regards, the funding of solar panels and their installation at the Home for the Elderly. The introduction of solar energy would enable the Home for the Elderly to be 50% reliant on solar energy power and would reduce its energy costs by the same amount. Additionally, the second part of this project will be to convert a courtyard of the Home as well as its balconies into gardening and floral spaces for residents to enjoy.

Project Hope regards the funding of the ongoing services of the food bank and financial aid for 100 families that have at least one elderly family member.
