Asylo Aniaton of Athens was established in 1893 and is a historical charitable institution. Its mission is to care for and support people with chronic, terminal illnesses, offering hospitality, nursing care and psychological support.

In 1972, Asylo Aniaton established its legal entity, the Foundation for Care of Neurological Illnesses. Asylo Aniaton cares for around 110 patients, 80% of which are elderly and bedridden. It has a staff of 100 individuals of various specialties and, since its establishment, approximately 9,000 individuals have been cared for, a large proportion of whom were low-income seniors.  Asylo Aniaton provides a variety of services to its residents which include: physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, group arts and crafts, musical activities and excursions & visits.
