The main activity of the organization is the presentation of musical and theatrical performances in Greece and abroad. The home of Dromos me Dentra is the Baumstrasse Studio, a multi-arts venue hosting a diverse range of arts and operating as a cultural and educational center. With an emphasis on education, Dromos me Dentra organizes seminars, lectures, workshops, thematic master classes, conferences and educational excursions, as a means to maintain and disseminate all forms of cultural heritage. Since 2012, Dromos me Dentra opens the summer Elefsina Festival with the presentation of an Ancient Drama play.

Operating Support

The grant regards the employment of 12 elderly actors in need for the rehearsals and performances of the Aeschylus’ tragedy “Persians”. The particular ancient Greek play was chosen to open the Elefsina Festival in 2015. The “Persians” are the elders that were left behind when Xerxes went to war taking with him the youth of Persia. As this tragedy is usually presented by young actors, the symbolism and importance of ageing were emphasized by the fact Dromos me Dentra only used elderly actors for the play, many of whom did not have pensions and some of whom were homeless.
