The organization’s aim is to provide care for persons who suffer from chronic and incurable diseases. While Asylo Aniaton accepts chronically ill patients of all ages, the great majority of its residents are seniors. It has 120 beds and all are full at the present time, with 80 individuals on the waiting list. Its residents suffer from a wide variety of chronic diseases such as multiple sclerosis, paraplegy, brain disease, dementia, Parkinson’s. Approximately 80 of Asylo Aniaton’s patients are bed-ridden. The organization has a staff of 64 and, according to resident needs, kinesiotherapy and physiotherapy is provided, along with daily medical care.
