Organization Earth’s programs are implemented in many locations, with an emphasis on its model Environmental Learning Center in Ilion. The organization has established partnerships with companies, local authorities, the academic community, charitable foundations, and numerous civil society organizations in Greece and abroad.
Vegetable Garden at the Athens Care Home
The grant regards the creation of a community organic vegetable garden at Athens Care Home (Girokomeio Athinon), providing elderly residents with consistent contact with nature and enabling creative use of their free time. The main goal is to empower residents and improve their mental and physical health through 40 interactive environmental educational workshops covering sustainable agriculture, circular economy principles, organic vegetable cultivation, plant protection, aromatic plants, composting, and material reuse. Care home staff will participate in workshops alongside residents. Cultivating seasonal plants, vegetables and compost will also reduce the need to purchase consumables. The garden will remain a permanent fixture, continuing to offer value to residents and the community beyond the grant period.
