The Center for the Study and Dissemination of Myths and Folktales was founded in 2006 with the aim of developing the public’s interest in the wealth of the planet’s cultural heritage and verbal storytelling traditions. To date the center records and showcases myths, stories and legends by organizing cultural events, artistic shows, and educational programs.

“Elderly Wise and Magic Helpers” Program

 

The grant regards the creation of a program entitled, “Elderly Wise and Magic Helpers”, which is a yearlong project involving the recording of 30 podcasts related to storytelling and myths; in these podcasts, the elderly play a central role in a hero’s adventure. Myths and stories from the world’s oral traditions have a rich educational role to play. The wealth of wisdom that the elderly bring to our world can be showcased through the selection of myths and stories from across the planet where the elderly are the central node of the narrative.

 

This grant is implemented through the Points of Support program IV.
