Municipality of Rhodes
The Municipality of Rhodes offers, through its subsidiaries and nonprofit affiliates, many social welfare programs and services to the most vulnerable of its citizens. One of these programs is the Day Center for the elderly. The Center has supported elders who are not autonomous either due to mobility issues or due to dementia, Alzheimer’s or other types of illness. The Day Center supports 15-20 members who are picked up from their homes and then taken back on a daily basis, Monday through Friday. The Center operates from 8am-3pm and the services offered include lunch, nursing, physiotherapy and recreational activities.
Equipment
The grant regards the purchase of a mini-bus to transport the individuals to and from the Day Center on a daily basis.
