The Moschato Philanthropic Home for the Elderly was founded in 1962 with the aim to provide nursing and care to elders in need from around Greece. Currently, the 3-storey building can accommodate up to 32 senior citizens in rooms with one to two beds. Through the years it has received many excellence awards from various institutions including the Red Cross and the Academy of Athens.
The grant regards the replacement of the internal elevator and the provision of medical supplies. The replacement of the existing elevator involves the installation of a new hydraulic elevator that can carry wheelchairs. The need for medical supplies includes medication as well as consumables that the elders’ public insurance plans do not cover.
