Charitable Institution "The Good Samaritan"
The Charitable Institution “The Good Samaritan” is a social welfare organization of the Archbishopric of Catholics in Athens. It was founded in 1939 as an organization that provided health and pharmaceutical care. In 1969 it narrowed down its operation to that of a care home with the aim to provide shelter and care to indigent elders. The care home accommodates 73 elderly residents. It only accepts autonomous seniors but provides the necessary nursing in case a senior loses his/her autonomy while at the care home. The Good Samaritan employs a staff of 32. It is administered by a 5-member Board, chaired by the Archbishop of Catholics in Athens.
The grant regards technical works to insulate the rooftop of the care home’s building, and the installation of railings around the edges of the rooftop. The grant also involves equipment related to the hygienic transfer of meals to the residents.
