The grant regards the continuation of the “Caring for the Elderly” program, which was funded by TIMA in 2014 and 2015, with the addition of various new elements. Food supplies and hygiene products will be provided for 12 months to 75 families with one or two elderly family members living under the same roof. The program will allow for each family to receive a new household item, such as furniture or an electric appliance, that will improve the quality of their daily lives. Moreover, through this program, free blood tests to the elderly members of the 75 families will be provided. The Caring for the Elderly program will also be supported through the provision of social work and administrative assistance. The families will also attend informational events on various subjects of interest and presentations by experts will be held pertaining to health-related issues. Lastly, group meals and excursions will be organized on a periodic basis for elderly beneficiaries living alone with the aim of increasing social interaction.
