“St. Marina” Kardamyla Care Home
The “St. Marina” Kardamyla Care Home was founded in 1972 by the Philanthropic Sisterhood of Kardamyla with the aim to provide accommodation and nursing to elderly residents in need in the village of Kardamyla, Chios. The Care Home is one of 2 nonprofit care homes in Chios and it currently accommodates 30 senior citizens out of which 12 are bedridden.
The grant regards the provision of the construction works necessary for the issuance of the operational permit of the Care Home. The operational permit has been set as an absolute requirement by the Care Home’s supervisory authority, the Prefecture of North Aegean. Besides ensuring a legal operation, the operational permit will allow the Care Home to receive a yearly government subsidy, in this way further upgrading the Care Home and benefiting its residents.
