Key activities include experiential teacher training programs integrating outdoor methodologies, curriculum adaptations for climate change awareness through video and school gardens, and redesigning school grounds into eco-friendly spaces for daily outdoor classes. Notable examples include the program “Schooler Planet”: a hands-on program promoting sustainability in primary schools through activities such as waste reduction and teamwork challenges. The Hub collaborates internationally, such as with the University of Aberdeen on urban school gardening projects.

Intergenerational Program

The grant regards an intergenerational program connecting young students and elderly participants through outdoor educational activities.  It will include 12 weekly outdoor education workshops with a mix of 50 children and 30 adult participants.  Additional participants will take part in community engagement events, and in hands-on experiential activities within natural environments. The program aspires to leverage the power of intergenerational outdoor education to promote both mental and physical health, social engagement, and environmental awareness.
