The Naousa Care Home was founded in 1968 with the aim to provide shelter and care to the elderly residents of Naousa. It is the only nonprofit care home in Naousa and one of two in the prefecture of Imathia. In 2015, approximately 35 elders were residing at the Care Home, with a maximum capacity of 48. The Home offers additional services to its residents, such as physical therapy, physical education and occupational therapy sessions. Recreational activities are offered by volunteers several times per week.
The grant regards renovation works, namely the exterior insulation of the Home’s building that will render it more energy efficient. More specifically, with the exterior insulation, the heating costs of the Home are estimated to decrease significantly. Given that Naousa is located in the northern part of Greece, the winter months are significantly colder compared to the rest of country.
