The Home for the Elderly and Bedridden of the Friends of the Poor Fund of St. Georgios Kypseli Church was founded in 1975 with the aim to provide nursing and care to elderly parishioners and to local residents. Since it moved to its current building in 1990 and as the needs increased, it started accepting elderly from around Athens. The 5-storey building can accommodate up to 78 senior citizens in rooms with 3 and 4 beds. It is the largest of the 11 care homes operated by the Archdiocese of Athens’ parishes.
The grant regards the installation of an emergency notification system as well as the provision of consumables for the daily care of bedridden elders.
