Since 1673, the Monastery of Assomatoi Petraki has played a critical role in Greek history, especially during periods of war. It has consistently offered philanthropic goods and services to the Greek nation. The Monastery of Assomatoi Petraki is considered one of the biggest benefactors in Athens, as it has donated a vast amount of land properties for the construction of major buildings, such as hospitals, educational institutions, museums and churches. Currently, the Monastery offers accommodation to 17 monks.
The grant regards renovation works, namely the insulation of the roof of one of the two Monastery buildings. The specific building houses the monks’ accommodation as well as the space used for the storage and distribution of donated goods.
