The Hellenic Association of Geriatrics & Gerontology was founded in 1977 in response to the new demographic profile of the ageing Greek population. Since its founding, it has played an important role in shaping policies for the elderly and has become an important source of education, information and dialogue on senescence issues. Throughout the years, some of the Association’s major contributions have been to spearhead the founding and operation of the Open Care Centres for the Elderly, organize the Panhellenic Congress of Geriatrics and Gerontology and operate the SOS line for Dementia. The Association has been a member of the International Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics since 1979.
The grant regards the provision of administrational support.
