General Hospital of Nikaia Piraeus “Agios Panteleimon”

The General Hospital of Nikaia was established in 1952 and currently is one of the largest public hospitals in Greece with a total capacity of 615 beds. The Urology Clinic has as a 90% utilization rate, providing medical care to over 5,500 patients annually and carrying out approximately 700 inpatient procedures predominantly for people falling within the 65-75 age bracket, who also tend to be patients from low-income backgrounds, with welfare insurance or lacking insurance altogether, while suffering from various health comorbidities.

Equipment

TIMA Charitable Foundation and the Latsis Foundation co-funded the purchase of specialized medical equipment, necessary for the modernization of the clinic, so that it can provide better health services such as reduced patient recovery time as well as improved surgical & diagnostic interventions, while reducing a range of fixed costs for the hospital.
